WEEK FIVE

This weeks class was moved to a different day . I tried to make it but unfortunately due to prior commitments I wasn't able to make it. One of the advantages of this module is that John puts all of the class notes online, this makes it much easier to keep up to date. From reading the online notes I have caught up on what was covered in last weeks class. From my reading The Medium is the Massage by Marshal Mc Luhan I was able to try and understand that "tools are an extension of what we do". The example of the hammer includes that when we pick up the hammer the function of the tool can change. McLuhan believes that in order to attempt to understand the importance of our tools , he asks us to consider how information is coming to us, whether it is through our ears or our eyes. By considering these things it may help is to understand the power of our tools.

We hoped to arrange a meeting to start discussing the topics of the group project and also get a feel for everyones different approaches on it . It was quite difficult to arrange a meeting this week as there seems to be a lack of communication in our group chat . This could be due to everyone doing different things during the midterm. I thought is may have been easier to organise the meet up as one of the advantages of Second Life is that it is possible to meet up even if your on the other side of the world .

We were  hoping to arrange a meeting shortly when we are back in college and have our weekly routines back . Ill keep you posted on our progress.
